ThisFlag Movement responds to Supa Mandiwanzira's lie that Pastor Evan Mawarire skipped bail

ThisFlag Citizen’s Movement has responded to claims by Supa Mandiwanzira that Pastor Evan Mawarire skipped bail.

In a press release ThisFlag said that the Minister of ICT should let the courts decide the matter and pointed out that Mawarire left Zimbabwe a free man after a Harare Magistrate dismissed his case in July 2016 as unconstitutional. Part of the statement reads:

Despite the confidence placed in Pastor Evan by Judge Phiri, there are those such as the Honorable Supa Mandiwanzira who insist on further dragging a good man’s name through the mud. Honorable Mandiwanzira, has already been accused of being duplicitous and dishonest in his dealings and this attack on Pastor Evan’s character is a further indictment on his relationship with the truth. When Pastor Evan left Zimbabwe in July 2016 he was a free man with no charges against him. There was no warrant issued for his arrest and he returned to Zimbabwe a free man. We implore Minister Mandiwanzira to allow the courts to make judgement on this case without spreading harmful misinformation. His comments today in the interview he had with British Ambassador Catriona Laing on Star FM can only be described as unfortunate.
