Joice Mujuru fires 7 Senior Party Leaders among them Didymus Mutasa, Rugare Gumbo, Bhasikiti, Dongo, Makova

Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF) party leader Joice Mujuru has fired seven senior party leaders. Mujuru claims that she fired the senior leaders because they were plotting to dethrone her as the president of Zimbabwe People First party.  Mujuru announced this at a press conference at her house.  Mujuru said the expelled members were “agents of the regime” and were against the party’s progress.

As a Party, we have decided to take stern measures against elements determined to stall the progress that the party has been making. As a result we have decided to eject some of the colleagues and comrades we thought would stand with the People’s cause but have chosen to be agents of the regime. All sorts of tricks, ranging from coup d’etat and sophisticated infiltration, have taken centre stage with a view to delaying the People’s cause of unequivocal liberation.

In the past few months there were rumours of factionalism in ZimPF and based on what just happened, the rumours may not have been baseless.   New leaders to replace them will be chosen at the party’s Congress according to one of the Zimbabwe People First officials.   This move may weaken ZimPF and affect the muted “grand coalition ” for the 2018 Elections.
