War Veterans spend day at courts in support of Pastor Evan Mawarire

Members and leaders of the  Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) showed up at the Harare Magistrate’s Court yesterday and spent the greater part of the day waiting for Pastor Evan Mawarire to appear in court.  In a show of support for Pastor Evan, war veterans’ spokesperson Douglas Mahiya and the secretary general Victor Matemadanda were at the courts supporting Pastor Evan, although their vigil turned out to be in vain after Mawarire was not taken to court due to the fact that the police did not have their paperwork in order.  The War veterans leaders also faced similar charges last year after they wrote a document criticising President Robert Mugabe.

Mawarire was arrested on Wednesday at the Harare International Airport, after returning to Zimbabwe after a six-month exile in the United States.  He is facing a number of charges some of which include:
