Election Results: Beauty Chibaya of Zanu-PF wins Bikita West by-election - comprehensively
Beauty Chibaya of Zanu-PF comfortably won the Bikita West by-election. Chibaya beat 5 other candidates who included Kudakwashe Gopo of Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF) and Madock Tatirai Chivasa of National Constitutional Assembly (NCA).
The final votes were as follows
- Beauty Chabaya of Zanu PF – 13 156
- Kudakwashe Gopo of Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF) – 2 453
- Madock Tatirai Chivasa of National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) – 343
- Innocent Muzvimbiri -Independent – 725
- Tanyaradzwa Terrence Makumbo of Progressive Democrats of Zimbabwe (PDZ) – 132
- Heya Shoko – Independent – 76
- Rejected Votes – 247
Zanu-PF political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere said Chibaya had wona a landslide after managing to combine the totals of two Zanu-PF candidates who stood against each other in 2013. The two were Elias Musakwa and Munyaradzi Kereke who went on to be elected.
