Mzembi successfully launches United Nations World Tourism Organisation Secretary General bid in Spain

Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Dr Walter Mzembi formally presented his bid for the post of Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation in Madrid, Spain on Thursday.

In his address, Mzembi mentioned that according to American luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, Conde Nast Traveller, Zimbabwe is ranked as the best tourism destination in Africa followed by Rwanda. He also mentioned that now is the time for Africa to be considered for the top tourism post due to the increasing number of tourists flocking to the continent.

He also presented a 10 point plan which will be the cornerstone of his tenure should his bid succeed. The plan includes; Universality, Inclusivity, Relevance, Responsiveness, Fairness, Facilitation, Diplomacy, Integration, Sustainability and Accountability.
