AfricaBet fails to pay winning tickets, again.
Sports betting company Africabet is failing to pay winning tickets to gamblers again. This also happened in the last week of December 2016, as well. The company had placed the blame on the cash shortages and on their bankers CBZ Holdings. Africabet is claiming that the cash allocation they are getting from CBZ is woefully inadequate.
Africabet’s marketing manager, Tarisai Chipamaunga, spoke to Newsday saying:
On the day in question, our branch manager was only given $300 at CBZ Chinhoyi branch, which was not enough for us to pay all the winning tickets. We have an arrangement with CBZ, but unfortunately, we could not get the required money on the day in question
