Police arrest 7 people for wearing Camouflage

Seven people were arrested for wearing “army apparel” in  Kadoma on New Year’s Day.  The seven were charged with contravening the Defence Act.  In Zimbabwe, it is forbidden to manufacture, distribute or wear a replica of military attire without authority.

Police spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) would like to confirm the arrest of seven people in Kadoma for wearing army apparel. The seven male adults were arrested on December 31, 2016 at Odyssey Night Club, where they were drinking beer. The ZRP and the Zimbabwe National Army have issued warnings to members of the public that it is an offence to put on the military attire and people must take heed.
