Dokora to intervene after Chipadze High school property auctioned to offset $90 000 debt

Chpadze High School in Bindura had its property attached and auctioned off by the Deputy Sheriffs over a $90 000 debt.  The school allegedly flouted tender procedures and bought  2000 chairs and 2 000 desks ffrom a  local  school furniture supply company.   The school however, failed to fulfill its obligations resulting in property being attached.

Some of the attached property is as follows:

  • 75-seater bus
  • Hiace Kombi
  • Isuzu Truck
  • Fridges
  • Photocopying machines
  • computers
  • 1 500 chairs

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Lazarus Dokora toured the school and promised to do all in his power to remedy the situation.  The headmaster has since been suspended.
