ZEC to get $50m biometric voting system, to be funded by UNDP Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC)  is preparing a biometric voter registration (BVR) for the 2018 elections.  The BVR will be funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)  and the Government for $50 million.

The UNDP flighted an advert in today’s Herald for the “Procurement of Biometric Voter Registration Kits, including Software.”
