Zifa & PSL summoned by Parliament

Football authorities at Zifa and the Premier Soccer League have been summoned to Parliament by the Portfolio Committee on Education, Sport, Arts and Culture chaired by Matobo North MP Never Kanye, this week to explain the state of the game in Zimbabwe.

The inivitation comes at a time when the two organisations were fighting over the relegation and promotion procedure with Zifa and the PSL representatives agreeing on Saturday that only two teams will be relegated from the top-flight league this year. This agreement was reached after Zifa had indicated that four teams be relegated instead of two which the PSL said it could not handle.

Speaking to The Chronicle, PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele acknowledged the invitation from Parliament.
