Zanu PF to discipline party members who "abuse" social media

Zanu-PF Secretary for Administration Dr Ignatius Chombo said disciplinary action was likely to be taken against Mashonaland Central chairperson Dickson Mafios for challenging Mugabe’s power to appoint Vice Presidents and social media abusers.

In a series of tweets Higher Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo defended Mafio’s view that the Vice Presidents should be elected rather than appointed and was involved in a brief debate  with Zimbabwe Liberation War Collaborators Association (Ziliwaco) chairman, Pupurai Togarepi.

Chombo said that those that have continued to denigrate senior party members on social media would be brought to book as they were defying Mugabe’s directive,

The President has, on several occasions, emphasised that party members should not take to social media to discuss internal matters or to denigrate each other. All those who continue to do that will be dealt with in line with the party’s rules and regulations. If party members continue to do that, they are defying the President.
