Cricket fans allegedly abuse Malcolm Waller racially after he drops catch

Malcolm Waller, a white player, is understood to have had made complaints that he was racially abused when he dropped a catch in the first session on day four of the 2nd Test.

Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union issued a statement condemning the behaviour by fans. Tapfumaneyi Vivian Banhire, the chairman of the ZCSU (Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union), said,

We are also disappointed by such racist rants, if they were really made. Our supporters union has no such members who engaged in such behaviour.

This is not the first time cricket fans have protested against the cricket team. In June supporters had held up player cards reading ‘Zim Cricket Players should be arrested and face treason’ after the Chevrons lost to India.
