Itai Dzamara's family responds to Mnangagwa's comments in Geneva
The family of missing activist Itai Dzamara has responded to Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa‘s comments on the human rights situation before the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), in Geneva Switzerland, where he said that Government is working with them to find the disappeared journalist.
Brother to Itai, Patson Dzamara who has petitioned the Zimbabwe Republic Police on the progress of his brother’s missing case, had this to say about Mnangagwa’s comments,
ZRP has failed to come up with a single lead and that has cemented their position of disbelief in their motives. I have always registered that they know what happened to Itai Dzamara and they are not acting in good faith. The few times they have presented reports they (reports) were whitewashed and mere nonsense. This evil government, they have never assisted the family in any way despite the several times we have tried to engage them through petitions etc.
FeedbackItai was abducted in Harare’s Glen View suburb about 18 months ago after launching his ‘Occupy Africa Unity Square campaign calling on ‘failed ‘ President Robert Mugabe to resign.
