Chamisa says Norton election result is evidence Zanu PF rigs elections
MDC-T deputy president Nelson Chamisa said the 6,000-plus votes garnered by Mliswa’s Zanu PF challenger was still too worrisome a figure given the ruling party’s growing unpopularity in the country. He also felt the Zanu PF votes were an unpleasant sign the ruling party still had its rigging machinery effectively in place to manipulate future polls.
He said,
Personally, I am disturbed that Zanu PF claims to have 6,000 in Norton at a time our country is at its lowest in all ways. The victory, while sweet, is a reminder that the evil forces are still active and should be the main lesson from this result! Zanu PF rigs elections. Even the so called 6000 votes in Norton is a fallacy.
