Eight more Zanu-PF legislators are set to be expelled from parliament following the party’s Extraordinary Congress held last Friday where the party adopted a Central Committee Report recommending for their expulsion together with 12 other party members.
The legislators are part of the G40 faction and these are; Paul Chimedza, (Gutu South) Shadreck Mashayamombe (Harare South), Samuel Undenge (Chimanimani East), Makhosini Hlongwane (Mberengengwa East), Sarah Mahoka (Hurungwe East), Walter Mzembi (Masvingo South) Anastancia Ndlovu (proportionate representative), Eunice Sandi Moyo (Senator). Their pending expulsion from parliament is in terms of section 129 (1) of the constitution.
Five other legislators from ZANU-PF were expelled from parliament last month. These are; Savior Kasukuwere (Mount Darwin South), Kudzanai Chipanga (Makoni West), Ignatious Chombo (Zvimba North) Professor Jonathan Moyo (Tsholotsho North) and Mandiitawepi Chimene (Mutasa South).

More Zanu-PF MPs To Be Expelled From Parliament

Former spokesperson for Joice Mujuru’s opposition party, the National People’s Party (NPP), Jealousy Mawarire has slammed cabinet ministers and other senior civil servants for not being genuine statesmen. Mawarire, who is an avowed supporter of the G40 Faction, claimed that if there were genuine statesman among Mugabe’s “cronies” they should have resigned together with Mugabe. Mawarire indirectly cited Minister of Home Affairs Obert Mpofu, who once signed a letter to Mugabe with the complimentary close “Your most obedient son.” Mawarire argues that Mugabe was not alone in managing the affairs of the country, and as such all those who were helping him should have resigned as well.
Mawarire, who is claiming that he fled to the United Kingdom, used microblogging site Twitter to say:
<blockquote>If we had genuine statesmen among Mugabe cronies, we should have woken up to an avalanche of resignations today. Mugabe was not alone in this, he had his “most obedient sons”.</blockquote>
Mawarire has been a very vocal critic of the military takeover by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF). Using social media, Mawarire has constantly been speaking out against the military takeover at one time saying:

What is to “take”? Army has no right to abduct civilians like what is happening. U can’t be abducting and beating people &amp; spraying homes with bullets &amp; call what u r doing “National Democratic Project”.</blockquote>

If There Were Genuine Statesmen In Zanu-PF, There Would Have Been Mass Resignations

A relative of Higher Education Minister, Professor Jonathan Moyo has dismissed the tweet that was sent from the minister’s Twitter handle on Monday as the work of a hacker. The account went dark on Tuesday last week just before the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) seized power in military takeover a few hours later. Moyo is reported to be one of the G40 Faction members arrested by the military and currently in the military’s custody. <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2017/11/20/jonathan-moyos-twitter-account-claims-safe-outside-country/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">However, yesterday a message was posted on the handle although it was promptly deleted.</a>
Responding to inquiries from Reuters news agency, Moyo’s relative said Moyo was in Zimbabwe and that he was safe. Said the relative:
<blockquote>While he remains safe, he is not the one who posted that.</blockquote>
The tweet which was later deleted reads:
<blockquote>In these difficult &amp; trying times that have been thrust upon our country, I wish to advise concerned family &amp; friends that I’m relatively fine outside the country as are ministers Kasukuwere, Zhuwao, Hlongwane, Zhanda plus at least 50 others who include MPs &amp; Zanu PF officials!</blockquote>

Jonathan Moyo's Twitter Account Was Hacked Says Relative

Dr Paul Chimedza, who was recently appointed as the Minister of State for Masvingo Province in the last cabinet reshuffle has been arrested. Chimedza was arrested as he tried to flee to South Africa at an army checkpoint near Bubi.
 
He joins the list of senior officials with links to the G40 Faction to have been arrested. Other senior officials who are in military custody are:

Minister of State For Masvingo Paul Chimedza Arrested Trying to Flee to S.A

In a radio interview on Monday, Zanu-PF Buhera South MP Joseph Chinotimba accused young members in the ruling party of sowing seeds of divisions between President Robert Mugabe and senior leaders within the ruling party as well as the military.
Said Chinotimba:
<blockquote>The President is being told someone wants to kill him. He is told Chinotimba does not like you, Chiwenga hates you and (Airforce Commander Perrance) Shiri does not like you by these young people. They are lying these Johnnies-come-lately, which could cause a collapse of the party. We fought with the President and protected him, suddenly these youngsters come and claim we want the President out. There are so many people who are lying to the President. They want to get positions through lying. They tell the President lies in order to make him suspicious forcing him to dump some people from the party and government. If the President is told someone wants to kill him, then the best idea for him would be to fire the person accused.</blockquote>

Chinotimba accuses G40 of causing divisions between Mugabe and senior leaders

The G40 Faction, which is opposed to Vice President Mnangagwa taking over from President Mugabe, has been accused of working on a damaging documentary which will be used to discredit Mnangagwa if a special congress is called for. Online publication, Khuluma Afrika, alleges that the plot to smear the Vice President was discovered by Military Intelligence (MI). The people mainly associated with the G40 Faction and supposedly the main strategists are Professor Jonathan Moyo, Saviour Kasukuwere and Patrick Zhuwao.
According to the article:
<blockquote>The documentary trashes Mnangagwa’s liberation struggle credentials and alleges that he was arrested in the 1960s for criminal activities instead of liberation-related activities.
The documentary also alleges that Mnangagwa went to exile in Zambia with his family “because he was a banished criminal in the country.”</blockquote>

Underfire Zanu-PF National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has promised to expose the schemes of the people who he claims are impatient to get into power. Kasukuwere claims to have evidence of their schemes to topple President Robert Mugabe and says that the people are coming after him because he refused to play ball. In a leaked video, Tyson says:
<blockquote>Each and every family has a person who sacrificed for this country; our problem as Mashonaland Central province is that we refused factionalism, we refused to be co-opted into a scheme to remove the president; we refused and we have evidence to that effect and we will be presenting the evidence to the leadership, detailing how they approached us, including visiting our homes with helicopters.
I am saying this because vekwangu mungaite dambudziko, mungadzungaidzwe musoro. (I had to say this because this is obviously confusing you as people who are close to me). Pane vamwe vanofunga kuti vanonokerwa, ndizvo zvatakadzingira mai (there are some who are getting impatient to take-over, that is why we fired (former vice president Joice) Mujuru izvozvo, iwe hatitye kukutandawo futi nekuti wanonokerwa (we will not hesitate to fire you as well)

The Politburo is expected to deliberate on Kasukuwere’s fate today after he was accused of plotting to topple President Robert Mugabe by setting uo parallel structures.

Kasukuwere promises to expose the people impatient to get into power who are plotting against President Mugabe

In a two page letter addressed to President Robert Mugabe, members believed to belong to Zanu-PF’s G40 faction accused Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Shuvai Mahofa and Psychomotor minister Josiah Hungwe of only recruiting members from the Team Lacoste faction for the 300 000 <a href="https://vacancymail.co.za/categories/rd-science-scientific-research-jobs-in-south-africa/">jobs</a> that are expected to be created from the dualisation of the Harare-Beitbridge Highway.
The two are also accused of sidelining G40 Faction members from economic projects such as fisheries, land and stands around Tokwe-Mukosi Dam. Part of the letter reads:
<blockquote>They are <a href="https://vacancymail.co.za/categories/textile-clothing-jobs-in-south-africa/">recruiting</a> people to the project along factional lines. Those people perceived to be anti-VP Mnangagwa are not considered.
Cde Mahofa is leading this process and on record stating that they will not allow any Zezuru influence in Masvingo province. Only people identified by their team are to be beneficiaries of the economic projects (fisheries, land and stands) around Tokwe-Mukosi Dam.</blockquote>
When contacted by NewsDay for a comment Mahofa said her office was not part of the <a href="https://vacancymail.co.za/categories/security-sheq-jobs-in-south-africa/">recruitment</a> process. Hungwe and Mahofa are also accused of organising district meetings to introduce Ezra Chadzamira as the Masvingo’s chairperson before his victory was endorsed by Zanu-PF’s politburo.

Mahofa & Hungwe accused of recruiting only Team Lacoste, blocking G40 from "300 000" Harare-Beitbridge Highway dualisation jobs

Zanu PF insiders told NewsDay that the G40 and Team Lacoste are fighting over President Robert Mugabe’s planned nationwide youth rallies.
A source within Zanu-PF told NewsDay that:
<blockquote>But G40 is opposed to the idea, which they think will be more like anointing Mnangagwa as the heir apparent. They think the rallies would be turned into Team Lacoste rallies to drum up support for Mnangagwa in the succession race. The Lacoste faction sees the meetings as providing a perfect opportunity to market their leader, Mnangagwa, to the electorate so that he can have an easy task if Mugabe becomes incapacitated. They are not leaving anything to chance, to them Mnangagwa is a step in and should be given the chance to address the youth as the incoming leader.</blockquote>
However, the party’s Secretary for youth Kudzi Chipanga said that he was not aware of the infighting between the two factions.

Zanu-PF legislators linked to the G40 faction yesterday boycotted Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s official opening of a private ward that was refurbished by the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church at a cost of $40 000 at Masvingo General Hospital.
The majority of the 26 legislators in Masvingo are linked to G40 and most of them, including the local Masvingo Urban MP, Daniel Shumba were absent. Only Chiredzi South MP Callisto Gwanetsa, Chiredzi West legislator Darlington Chiwa, Gutu South MP Paul Chimedza and Bikita South MP Beauty Chabaya were in attendance from the faction, while the rest were from the Lacoste faction.

Jonathan Moyo has called fellow Zanu-PF minister Obert Mpofu a “BIG Judas Iscariot” following reports that Zanu-PF Matabeleland North is preparing to censure Professor Jonathan Moyo over allegations of, among others, working with under fire National Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere. Addressing a provincial coordinating committee meeting in Lupane yesterday, Zanu-PF Politburo member Dr Obert Mpofu indicated that a day would be set to deliberate on the charges against Prof Moyo whom he did not mention directly.

Energy Minister, <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Samuel_Undenge">Samuel Undenge</a> who was said to be battling for his life after he was rushed to South Africa, following a suspected food poisoning incident in his Manicaland home province, is now recovering.
A cabinet minister told NewZimbabwe.com that Undenge is now recovering and is expected to be discharged this weekend. The minister confirmed the food poisoning incident but declined to give more details. The food poisoning is believed to be related to factional fights in Zanu PF.

Jonathan Moyo says he will not work with Mnangagwa if he succeeds Mugabe

Defence minister and<a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_African_National_Union_-_Patriotic_Front"> Zanu PF</a> secretary for war veterans, <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Sydney_Sekeramayi">Sydney Sekeramayi</a> challenged the party’s warring factions to resolve their differences through dialogue.
Addressing war veterans at a meeting in Mutare, Sekeramayi said,
<blockquote>Our enemies have failed to destroy us, but if we want to destroy our party, what will our enemy say?Let us (Zanu PF) sit down and resolve our differences. In Democratic Republic of Congo and Libya, people are fighting each other, let us avoid going there.</blockquote>
The meeting was also attended by Provincial Affairs minister and leader of a splinter war veterans’ group, <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Mandi_Chimene">Mandi Chimene</a> and permanent secretary in the ministry, Walter Tapfumaneyi who are believed to be supporters of the G40 faction.
