the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is yet to decide on the way forward on the abandoned Chibuku Super Cup between Shabanie Mine vs CAPS United.
In a statement received on Monday, the PSL said that it will make a decision after the two clubs submit reports on what happened. PSL also appeals to the police to arrest the fans that threw the missiles injuring the assistant referee. The Press Statement reads:
<blockquote>The Premier Soccer League has received the official match report from the Referee for the abandoned Chibuku Super Cup Quarter Final match between Shabanie Mine FC and Caps United FC played at Maglas Stadium on Sunday 08 October 2017.
We have requested the two clubs to send their reports detailing what transpired. Thereafter, we will advise our stakeholders on the way forward.</blockquote>

PSL to decide on Shabanie Mine vs CAPS United abandoned match

CAPS United assistant coach Fungai Kwashi said that they are ready to resume the abandoned Chibuku Super Cup match between them and Shabanie Mine.
The natch was abandoned after CAPS United fans threw missiles following a decision by assisant referee Kusosa flagged a strike from John Zhuwawu for an offside. Said Kwashi:
<blockquote>We were ready to play the match because we were the better team in the minutes played. No disrespect to Shabanie Mine but we created more chances and we had more possession and could have scored more goals in the first half. I don’t want to comment much about this but what I can only say is that we are happy with the way we played. The boys really played fantastic football.</blockquote>

CAPS United ready to continue abandoned match

The match between Shabanie Mine and CAPS United which was played at Maglas Stadium was abandoned before the final whistle after the far side assistant referee was hit by a flying missile and got injured on the eye.
The match was called off in the 65th minute when CAPS United supporters started throwing missiles in protest of a disallowed goal which was judged to have been scored from an offside position.The scoreline was standing at 1-0 in favour of Shabanie Mine.
Shabanie had went into the lead in the  43rd minute through William Mapfumo who scored a header from a corner kick. John Zhuwawo equalised but the assistant referee waved offside resulting in CAPS’ supporters throwing missiles in protest.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo City beat Yadah 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium through Ishmael Wadi’s goal in the 84th minute.

CAPS United game abandoned after assistant referee gets injured, Bulawayo City progress

CAPS United have extended their fine form by registering a 1-0 win over Chicken Inn. The win sees the defending Champions move up to fifth on the log.
Chicken Inn were unlucky not to win after hitting the woodwork three times. Chicken Inn could have gone top of the league had they won but will remain in 4th position with just a point behind log leaders Dynamos who are on 52 points.
The only goal of the match came in the 83rd minute through the boot of Dominic Chungwa.

Dynamos are now at the summit of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after winning the resumed match against Chapungu played at Ascot Stadium today.
No goals were scored in the remaining minutes but Dynamos managed to safeguard their 4 goals and see off the match to claim 3 points. The match had to be replayed after goal posts fell with just over 30 minutes still to play at Ascot. 
CAPS United continued their unbeaten run after winning against Hwange at the Colliery courtesy of a second half strike by John Zhuwawo.

Dynamos go on top after winning, CAPS United win again

CAPS United fan is battling for his life in hospital after falling head-first, into the ground from the bay that houses the club’s fans as they celebrated Dominic Chungwa’s goal. Speaking to The Herald, CAPS United director Farai Jere said that they were waiting for update from board member responsible for supporters Abraham Kawadza, who was at the hospital last night.
CAPS United board member, Dr Mordecai Sachikonye immediately rushed to the ambulance before the supporter left the stadium. Said Jere:
<blockquote>He was bleeding and according to Dr Sachikonye he was suspected of having cracked a bone in the head and has head injuries. But the doctor believes he didn’t break his neck which might be a good thing. He was rushed to the hospital and our supporters representative escorted him to the hospital. Our board member, Kawadza, went to the hospital after the match, so we will have a full update on his condition later in the evening.</blockquote>

CAPS United fan hospitalised after falling from bay celebrating Chungwa's winning goal

Although Caps United made $96 000 from Sunday’s Harare derby against Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium, the club could have made much more were if not for the poor security and a slow payment system.
Fans who were paying using EcoCash mobile money were only required to show the confirmation message in order to gain entrance. This resulted in some fans, forwarding the confirmation message to their friends who then used the same message to enter the giant stadium.
Only 20 gates were open instead of the usual 32 and this combined with the slow point of sale system resulted in some fans being unable to get into the stadium on time for the game and some were still struggling to enter the stadium at half time. Subsequently, frustrated fans left the stadium and returned home.
Premier Soccer League (PSL)spokesperson Kudzai Bare said:
<blockquote>We apologise to the fans that were inconvenienced by the point-of-sale system (commonly referred to as swiping).
The network was going up and down. But most of the fans came in with cash. The problem we had is that we had only 20 gates open, instead of 32.
We had fans coming in in large numbers towards kick-off and there was a request to delay the start of the match. It was not possible because the television signal had already been received. We are aware that some fans had go back home because we had people still paying by half-time.</blockquote>

Caps United loses thousands of dollars due to poor security and slow payment system

CAPS United grossed $96 800 after 18 007 fans paid their way to watch the first installment of the Harare Derby against Dynamos. After deducting $33 200 from the combined levies of 15 percent for the stadium, the Sports Commission levy, ZIFA and PSL levies, the club was left with a net amount of $63 600.
Sunday’s match surpassed last year’s Harare Derbies and this year’s Champions League match against TP Mazembe. Last year, the first edition of the Harare Derby at Rufaro Stadium in May grossed $78 000 after 14 000 fans paid to watch the game.

CAPS United makes $96 800 from Harare Derby

CAPS United assistant coach Fungai Tostao Kwashi criticised referee Nkosana Nduna for awarding Dynamos a free kick which resulted in Dynamos scoring its second goal which sealed the match. Television replays showed that substitute Moses Muchenje had won the ball legally with a very good challenge on Ocean Mushure.
Said Kwashi:
<blockquote>The second goal they got, I thought it wasn’t supposed to be given because Moses Muchenje actually won that ball, I saw the video, that goal from the free kick, but in football you get calls like that and sometimes the referee makes a good call, sometimes he makes a bad call. You can’t give excuses over that, you can’t complain, he is a human being, it’s football life, but what he does cost matches and we lose points over it, but I am not going to sit here and moan about this, all I can do is look forward to the next encounter which is Bulawayo City on Wednesday.</blockquote>

Dynamos beat CAPS United 2-0 in a match played at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Christian Ntouba Epoupa scored a brace in the 45th and 76th minute to hand the Glamour Boys a victory over their Harare rivals. Meanwhile Highlanders continued their losing streak with a Highlanders 0-1 loss to Chapungu.

Dynamos beat CAPS United, Highlanders woes continue

CAPS United have hiked gate charges ahead of their highly anticipated Premier Soccer League match with Dynamos on Sunday.
The cheapest ticket is now pegged at $5 while VIP is $10 and VVIP is $20. Fans can pay through swiping and Eco-cash. In a statement CAPS United explains the reason for the hike and says:

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Harare Derby, we host Dynamos in another potentially exciting Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at the giant National Sports Stadium this Sunday the 3rd of September 2017 at 1500Hrs.
With the substantial costs involved in hosting derbies including security costs, the cheapest ticket will be going for USD5.00 and for the convenience of our beloved supporters the club has made available swiping and Eco-cash payment facilities in addition to the usual cash method.
CAPS United Football Club would like to appeal to all the soccer loving fans to come in their numbers and rally behind their respective teams.
Gates will be opened early at exactly 1200Hrs and fans are urged to come in time to avoid long queues, unnecessary pressure and regrettable inconveniences.

Initially the cheapest ticket was pegged at $3. The match will be screened live on SuperSport from 14:45.

CAPS United hikes gate entry charges ahead of Harare Derby

CAPS United legend Leonard Tsipa has retired from football following an injury. He is now part of coaches attending level one and two courses organised by the  Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Association in Harare.
Former Dynamos player Eddie Mashiri, is also part of the learners. Other former players are; Kelvin Mushangazhike, Marlon Jani, Daniel Kamunhenga, Elton Chimedza and Itai Gwandu.

Leonard Tsipa retires from football, pursues coaching

CAPS United registered a 2-1 win over Black Rhinos in a match played this afternoon at National Sports Stadium. Highlanders lost 1-0 to Tsholotsho.
Black Rhino’s Brighton Chandisaita scored an own goal in the 45th minute to give Makepekepe the lead before Vincent Mhandu equalised in the 77th minute finishing off a cross from Mukombwe. However in form forward Dominic Chungwa scored CAPS United’s second goal of the afternoon in the 84th minute. CAPS United’s Justice Jangano was sent off during injury time after being given a second yellow card.
Lucky Vundla scored Tsholotsho’s only goal in the 45th minute. <a href="https://twitter.com/Dembare_DotComs/status/900370336507711489">Reports</a> are that Bosso fans threw missiles onto the pitch during injury time.

CAPS United striker Dominic Chungwa scored a brace as Makepekepe beat Ngezi Platinum 3-0 at a match played at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday. Former Black Mambas forward John Zhuwawu scored the third goal of the game.
However, goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda limped off early into the second half and CAPS United assistant coach Fungai Tostao Kwashi said the medical team will assess him to determine the extend of his injury. Meanwhile, Winston Mhango scored from the penalty spot to give FC Platinum a 1-0 win over Triangle in a match played at Gibbo on Sunday.

Chungwa scores brace as CAPS United beats Ngezi Platinum

CAPS United have moved out of the relegation zone after beating FC Platinum 2-1 in a rescheduled Castle Lager Premiership fixture played at Rufaro Stadium this afternoon.
FC Platinum took the lead in the 5th minute through Charles Sibanda. Dominic Chungwa headed Hardlife Zvirekwi’s corner to level the scores in the 20th minute. Stephen Makatuka put Makepekep in front with a header following a Ronald Pfumbidzai corner kick in the 37th minute. The results sees CAPS United move out of the relegation zone to 14th with 21 points while FC Platinum’s unbeaten that had stretched to five games comes to an end.
