Special adviser to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Christopher Mutsvangwa is reported to have suffered a humbling defeat at the hands of independent candidate Temba Mliswa. Mliswa who is the incumbent member of parliament announced that he defeated Mutsvangwa by a margin of more than 12 000 votes. Mliswa won the seat with a huge tally of 16 847. According to Mliswa, second position went to Samuel Matemera of the coalition MDC Alliance who had 7 850 votes. Mutsvangwa managed to poll only 4 255 votes to settle third place. Said Mliswa on Twitter,

When an independent candidate can beat hands down the biggest parties, 16857 (Independent) vs 12 105 (ZANU& MDC Alliance)it shows an electorate well attuned to what they need. Salute Norton.
At the time of publishing, Mliswa is the only independent candidate who has managed to upset the odds and beat candidates from the two main parties, Zanu-PF and the MDC Alliance.
True of all Norton is a great constituency who vote for what they want happen(policies) rather than others who only vote for( political parties) zanu pf or mdc alliance
