Presidential Adviser Mutsvangwa Walloped In Norton Election

Special adviser to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Christopher Mutsvangwa is reported to have suffered a humbling defeat at the hands of independent candidate Temba Mliswa. Mliswa who is the incumbent member of parliament announced that he defeated Mutsvangwa by a margin of more than 12 000 votes. Mliswa won the seat with a huge tally of 16 847. According to Mliswa, second position went to Samuel Matemera of the coalition MDC Alliance who had 7 850 votes. Mutsvangwa managed to poll only 4 255 votes to settle third place.  Said Mliswa on Twitter,

I am proud to be a Zimbabwean and I am proud of Norton. We have once again shown the World that we are civilised and educated. I concur with David Coltart that we must remain law abiding and allow ZEC to do its job. The announcements are coming. Viva Norton! Viva Zimbabwe!

When an independent candidate can beat hands down the biggest parties, 16857 (Independent) vs 12 105 (ZANU& MDC Alliance)it shows an electorate well attuned to what they need. Salute Norton.

At the time of publishing, Mliswa is the only independent candidate who has managed to upset the odds and beat candidates from the two main parties, Zanu-PF and the MDC Alliance.
