Members of the ruling Zanu-PF party have been accused of vote-buying in Mount Pleasant constituency after people were seen handing out money to voters from an official party vehicle. Incumbent legislator, Jaison Passade was reported to have been seen at the scene where money was being handed out. Election observers were notified of the incident.
Aspiring member of parliament for the constituency, Fadzayi Mahere wrote on her Twitter timeline,
Eyewitnesses have told us that money was being handed out by this vehicle labelled Zanu PF Mt Pleasant whereupon people were rushing to the tent to vote. Passade was also present. He was in a blue jacket driving the car labelled Zanu Mt Pleasant.
