Judicial Service Commission (JSC) Deputy Secretary Mr Munamato Mutevedzi confirmed that they recruited 60 magistrates out of 200 candidates had been shortlisted out of 700 applications.
Mutevedzi declined to give names of the successful candidates. Said Mutevedzi:
Sixty candidates were successful and have been appointed. They will be deployed to their stations after completing training. The appointments go a long way in alleviating the shortages which were being experienced. We cannot disclose the names of the candidates but what we can disclose is the final list of candidates per province.
Manicaland has 9 successful candidates, 8 from Midlands province, 7 from Masvingo province, 7 from Matabeleland South province, 9 from Mashonaland East province, 6 from Mashonaland Central, 3 from Harare and 7 from Matabeleland North province, which is combined with Bulawayo.
