The people are reported to have died from Saturday’s explosion at White City Stadium in Bulawayo. The two succumbed to injuries sustained when an as yet unidentified projectile exploded at a Zanu-PF rally which had been addressed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The two victims died at Mpilo Central hospital where they were admitted on Saturday.
Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr David Parirenyatwa confirmed the first fatality in an interview with state-owned radio station Star FM earlier during the day. Officials from Mpilo Central Hospital confirmed the two fatalities state-owned Chronicle newspaper.
The identities of the deceased have been withheld until their relatives have been notified.
