Mnangagwa Fires Webster Shamu

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has relieved Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province, Webster Shamu of his duties with immediate effect.

In a statement released to ZBC News on Monday evening, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said Shamu’s removal from office was done in terms of section 108 (1) (a) as read with section 340 (1) of the Constitution.

Shamu’s dismissal comes after reports that he attempted to rig the Zanu-PF primary election rerun in Chegutu East.
