It’s Impossible For Zanu-PF To Win 2018 Elections: Ibbo Mandaza

Ibbo Mandaza has said it is impossible for Zanu-PF to win the 2018 elections because the party has disintegrated. He said this at a symposium on peace and the 2018 harmonised elections organised by the Election Resource Centre (ERC) and the University of Zimbabwe on Thursday.

Said Mandaza:

It’s a fair conclusion to make that the party of revolution is broken, tattered, fractured and cannot possibly win elections in 2018. It’s impossible.

Mandaza said the freedoms being experienced by people are a result of this disintegration and not the benevolence of Mnangagwa and company. Said Mandaza:

There is disintegration, therefore, the apparent freedom that you are experiencing in rural areas, the extent to which the opposition has been able to hold rallies in areas they have never been able to have rallies before is not through the benevolence of this new dispensation. It is because the state is disintegrated they are no longer able to control it. The State is divided army versus police, army versus CIO [Central Intelligence Organisation]. It’s a fractured State.

  1. Mandaza only appears to b a bad analyst, and in addition likely a mere g4o reactionary;both the police & intelligence community(the CIOs) have already shown signs of submission to the army if at all they were against it in the first place;while it is we all don’t know exactly who will win the elections but with the Chamisa lie every where,it appears this Ngwena cabal called lacoste is likely to b returned back to power by the elections, since they appear genuine, progressive& quite on it,with their open for business mantra.Mind you the silent majority electorate see thru political propaganda fr all quarters.

  2. Addmore, Zanu PF has never won free and fair elections since 2000. Ibbo is right. Why is ZANU panicking about a young guy whom they say is immature? ZANU PF should sell their achievements rather than be behaving like the opposition perhaps they are preparing to be the opposition after losing the 2018 election. Criticising the opposition without highlighting your achievements, you are actually campaigning for Chamisa. Chamisa mukuno agarisa madhara ane 75 years pasi.

  3. Ibbo mukaradhi uyu has a thing with ED,he never gave him a chance since he was fired by Robert as a VP. All his stories on Zanu PF are toxic. Not surprised they couldnt have theirs going with Makoni
Now we know the source of poison.

  4. Maphosa- Ibbo is a Zimbabwean like you and he can express his own views like all of us. What is toxic about his comments. ZANU lost all the elections from 2000 and ZANU is not a marketable product. They are busy forcing people to attend his rally right now in Mutare. He cannot connect with the people of this country

  5. In 1953 we had the Federation followed by an economic boom. In 1965 we had UDI followed by a 10 year period of decent industrialization (albeit with the civil war). In 1980 we changed government and the next 10 years (bar the Gukurahundi stupidity) were followed by phenomenal expansion in the social services. In 2000 we failed to change government and went off the rails. In 2009 we had the GNU and had some respite. No change of government in 2013 resulted in total collapse. Surely changing government now can only bring good results!!!!

  6. Mazano Rewayi- you are saying something logical which ZANU PF supporters do not seem to understand. I feel pity for them for their blind faith in a hopeless government. Change is also good for democracy thus the right to choose and compare governments. I like the South African government system where a president can be recalled by the party whereas in Zimbabwe a president is demi-God which ZANU PF supporters can worship. They worship idols. Hungwe said ED was sent by God. I hope this is not the same god which we worship.

  7. The next thing Ibo is going to say is MDC allience is solid a fragmented coalition. I SEE why Ibo And JONATHAN are friends they are not in touch with anything . There is nothing that shows me these two are proper academics Emmerson is even trying to bring people like Davengwa on board and Chamisa is expelling KHUPE if it is impossible for Zanu to win then why go for elections let’s just declare Ibos wonderboy Chamisa the winner. Surely Ibo is old enough to know that saying impossible is not correct

    1. Jimalo- ZANU PF is looking for legitimacy thus why they want us to participate in flawed elections. The junta wants to use the election to sanctify themselves. It’s out of selfishness rather than the interest of the people. He wanted to give his wife a salary also out of selfishness. It’s not about bringing people together but pursuing a development agenda, results will show. You people you behave like the opposition rather than the ruling party which should have a lot to showcase after 38 years. You are busy barking as if its Chamisa is the one who is stopping from you from providing drugs to hospitals, paying salaries to nurses and teachers, creating 2 millions jobs and stopping from sleeping in queues. We do not want to be brought together by you. Chinamasa said in November that you don’t need the opposition because you have the majority in parliament. Go it alone who cares.

  8. ZANU PF is a dead log, party with no direction. They have looted enough and are there to protect the loot.
They are even protecting the people that wanted to kill them. What is happening with Chombo who forcibly took money from RBZ to pay assassins. Security guards, Zimbabweans, lost their life became of him. There is virtually no one to indict him for that. ZANU is good at abusing power. They should hand it to the new generation.
All G40s and Lacost members should be charged for abuse of power in the office of our government. Shame ZANU PF.

    1. Mbongo- thus the objectivity which we want not people who have sold their souls for 3o pieces of silver. ZANU PF is paying people to post negative things about Chamisa to influence public opinion the Russian way which Trump used to discredit Clinton. Zvino kuno kuZimbabwe, it does not work because a lot of people do not read online newspapers. Also, people want change after the stolen 2013 election through NIKVU.
