Harare West MP Jessie Majome has withdrawn from MDC-T primary elections citing irregularities. Majome said people are not following the rules that are set out by the party. Said Majome:
What I have done is to withdraw myself from the race for the party ticket because that race is an extremely unfair race that makes it not a race at all. In my view it more or less become like a game of chance and lottery. The rules are changing every time and its extremely difficult to participate in something like that with a clear and open conscience.
When asked if she will contest as an independent candidate, Majome said she will leave the decision to Harare West residents. Majome won the seat in 2008 and 2013. Below is a video of Majome making the announcement courtesy of Bustop TV:
