Thokozani Khupe led MDC-T spokesperson Linda Masarira has criticised MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa for promising to give his Zanu-PF rival Emmerson Mnangagwa his sister if he manages to get 5% of votes.
Masarira said Chamisa’s comment shows that he has no regard for women in the country. Said Masarira:
It shows that he has no regard for women in this country. And you can compare it with the way he has treated women in his own party, the way he treated Madam Thokozani Khupe. It really shows that he has no regard whatsoever for women because you cannot trade your own sister for political mileage. Even if he wants to call it a joke, you cannot joke about such sensitive issues in this day and age.
Chamisa’s speech has drawn mixed comments on social media.

Linda, I thought you understand political jokes. You should concentrate on campaigning for your party. We the core supporters of Chamisa know political jokes. Trump joked that he would marry Ivanka Trump if she was not his daughter. Just keeping on dreaming about the Ministerial posts offered to Khupe and her associates by Zanu for being willing tools.
Jokes reveal our personality and beliefs. With this “joke” Chamisa has revealed his beliefs about women. That is, women are a property of men and can be used in whatever way they see fit, e.g. gambling. Chamisa is young but he holds primitive ideologies about women. If he is to be a leader of the country he must embrace the dignity of all including women!

Addmore , why do you dwell on trivialities rather than substance? ZANU PF supporters are like robotics which have to be switched off and on. The president of the USA Trump said if Ivanka was not my daughter I would marry her. These are political jokes. We will still vote for him because mind you when Chamisa was speaking he was speaking to his base. I hope you know what a base is in politics. We will not deviate from change which we believe in.
