Aspiring member of parliament for Harare Central constituency Linda Masarira has criticised the decision by the Nelson Chamisa led MDC-T to recall Thokozani Khupe from parliament saying it is the worst decision made by the “Chamisa faction”.
Writing on micro-blogging website Twitter, Masarira who is also a women rights activist said:
This was the worst decision made by the Chamisa faction. At this juncture I am forced to follow the voice of reason to support constitutionalism and to protect the interests of a woman politician. Zimbabwe Women In Politics condemns this move and will stand in solidarity with Dr Thokozani Khupe.
Khupe has responded to the recall saying she has advised her lawyers to seek legal recourse on the issue. She also revealed that the MDC-T leadership crisis is before the High Court and as such she did not deserve to be recalled from Parliament. Khupe has been embroiled in a succession battle with Nelson Chamisa following the death of MDC-T founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai in February this year. She was expelled from MDC-T together with Abednico Bhebhe and Obert Gutu for refusing to endorse the party’s National Council decision to appoint Chamisa as the acting president.

Zimbabwean journalists are the only ones who call Twitter ‘micro blogging website’. Please, don’t make us look like we are ancient. It’s popular enough every where else around the world to just be called Twitter and everyone will know what it is

I am a woman, but l am not standing by Khupe, we should take a leaf from Zanu PF, Bob’s argument was he was constitutionally elected but people did not want him anymore, l go by popularity and contributions that a person would have made.

Linda if you belong to Zanu PF close your mouth. When MDC T was formed in 1999 where was Khupe? I begin to suspect that you are not a human right activist but a puppet of the ruling party. Khupe and Grace Mugabe are noise makers not leaders at all. You seem to belong the same bunch of confused ladies l have ever heard in politics. If you dont have anything to say keep quiet.
The sad reality is that Linda is just a dull and violent thug. Came face to face with her at Cape to Cairo bar in skies where she was threatening to beat up anyone who had not registered to vote. When asked to explain why we should vote for her as she was likely to split opposition votes, she was unconvincing. She had a large entourage which included her young daughter. When we suggested thst RGM had done her a favour by putingt her in prison and the media made her a heroine and now she was splashinh donor money around, she went bonkers.
