Wicknell Chivayo has gifted gospel musicians Mambo Dhuterere and Mai Dhuterere brand-new Toyota Fortuner SUVs and a substantial cash donation in recognition of their contributions to Zimbabwean gospel music.
In a statement shared on social media on Friday, 23 May, Chivayo praised the duo for revolutionising the apostolic gospel sound and uniting Zimbabweans through their music.
He commended them for their influence, which has extended from church gatherings to major national events, including ZANU PF rallies.
To celebrate their achievements, Chivayo announced that the musicians could collect their fully paid white Toyota Fortuner 2.8 GD6 vehicles from Faramatsi Motors.
In addition, he offered Mambo Dhuterere US$50,000 and Mai Dhuterere US$100,000, acknowledging her role as a wife and mother.
Chivayo also addressed social media reports about alleged marital difficulties between the couple. He expressed hope that they would reconcile, citing the importance of family unity and faith.
He urged the pair to overcome any personal challenges for the sake of their children and their shared mission. Said Chivayo:
In extending this SMALL token of appreciation, my attention was drawn to certain SOCIAL MEDIA reports that that your marriage is currently experiencing CHALLENGES and it is ALLEGED that you are now staying APART.
I have also read some disconcerting newspaper articles on the allegations against your wife, which matter I believe is still before the criminal courts, so I will not comment about it.
Chakanyanya kundirwadza however, is an allegation that you claimed your dear wife brought you “BAD LUCK” because you didn’t receive a car from me.
I wish to set the RECORD STRAIGHT. I only held back from giving you a car because you had PUBLICLY stated that you were not EAGER to get a car from me as you had many other cars.
I simply RESPECTED your position then, but otherwise you were and have ALWAYS been at the TOP of my priorities, especially considering uri MUPOSITORI seni.
Chivayo, who has previously been vocal about his own experiences with marriage and co-parenting, encouraged the couple to find healing and strength together, reinforcing the belief that “a family that prays together stays together.” He said:
That being said, I have always admired Mai Dhuterere as a strong, SUPPORTIVE WIFE and partner. She has stood by you from DAY 1, contributed to your music and mission and I recognize her as an integral part of your SUCCESS.
From the depths of my heart, I urge you to find your way back to each other in full love and unity. I might not be privy to any of your DIFFERENCES, but for the sake of your BEAUTIFUL children, who deserve to grow up in a home filled with both their parents’ love and for the sake of the KINGDOM of God, which is GLORIFIED when you stand together as a family, you are always BETTER TOGETHER.
None of us are perfect and every marriage faces STORMS, but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. You have touched so many lives side by side and your UNITY has been part of your testimony, showing us that a family that PRAYS together STAYS together.
I speak from EXPERIENCE, but as the Bible teaches us, at times, DO AS I SAY not as I do. I too have walked the road of a broken marriage.
Even though my marriage is now IRRETRIVABLY BROKEN DOWN, I have grown to deeply appreciate and will always RESPECT the mother of my children.
I ALWAYS support her and we cooperate for the sake of our two MOST AMAZING children, because that’s what responsible, MATURE co-parenting requires.
I am forever indebted and grateful to her for those two MOST important two people in my life.
Chivayo pleaded with Mambo Dhuterere and his wife to forgive each other and allow God to restore their marriage. He said:
My advice to you my young brother, you still have the CHANCE to save what is PRECIOUS. Be the example that even if clouds gather, zuva RICHABUDA CHETE.
I pray that you FORGIVE each other and let God RESTORE your home, heal your family and INSPIRE countless other couples and families who look up to you and who have been RECONCILED by your music.
May you both find PEACE and healing and may your union EMERGE STRONGER than ever.
We need to see Mambo Dhuterere and his first wife
