ZRP Summons 290 Harare Motorists Caught On CCTV Violating Road Rules

Nearly 300 motorists have been flagged by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Harare’s Central Business District (CBD) for various traffic offences.

The crackdown is part of a broader government initiative to reduce lawlessness in urban areas, enforce traffic laws, and address the rising number of violations in the capital.

In a statement issued on Monday, 19 May, ZRP National Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi urged the identified motorists, whose offences were captured on surveillance, to report to Mkushi Police Academy (formerly Morris Depot) within seven days. Said Commissioner Nyathi:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has embraced the Electronic Traffic Management System and is appealing for cooperation from 290 motorists with the listed vehicle registration numbers to assist in the ongoing investigations.

The motorists or vehicle owners are urged to fully cooperate and assist in maintaining law and order in the country by reporting to the Police within the next seven days…

The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that with the advent of technology in policing, the days of reckless driving by motorists are coming to an end. Drivers are reminded to be law-abiding citizens and collectively contribute towards road safety.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges the vehicle owners or those in possession of the vehicles listed to report at ZRP National Traffic offices at Mkushi Academy (formerly Morris Depot) or contact the National Complaints Desk number (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp 0712 800 197.
