High Court judge to give judgement in case where transgender activist is demanding $10,8 million for arrest after entering a ladies’ toilet.

On Friday, Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Francis Bere is expected to hand down judgment in a case where Ricky Eugene Nathanson who prefers to be referred to as a woman is demanding $10,8 million compensation for unlawful arrest after he entered a ladies’ toilet in 2014.

He is suing  Police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri, Home Affairs minister Ignatius Chombo and a Zanu PF activist, Farai Mteliso who reported him to the police, leading to his arrest. Through his lawyer, Perpetua Dube, Nathanson claims the arrest was a breach of his rights and wants each of the respondents to pay $2,7 million as damages.
