2023 Elections: Jonathan Moyo Says Chamisa Will Lose The Same Way Simba Makoni Lost In 2008

Self-exiled former Information minister, Professor Jonathan Moyo has likened Nelson Chamisa who leads the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) to 2008 presidential candidate Simba Makoni.

In a series of Twitter messages seen by Pindula News, Moyo said Chamisa, a former ICT minister, will fail to win the 2023 elections the same way Simba Makoni lost the 2008 poll. He said:

Simba Makoni’s 2008 failed idea that a ‘popular someone’ without structures can run for the presidency & win – with parliamentary & local govt candidates chosen by communities and linked to that someone – is one of the dumbest ideas that lingers on in Zim politics!

P/S: Political analysis (commentary) is about unpacking and understanding facts (praxis) in front of you in the public domain; praxis is not what you wish for, but what is there!

While @nelsonchamisa imagines he can adopt & adapt Makoni’s 2008 structureless strategy & use it without the tag of “independent presidential candidate”; a Triple C run by a Trio, without structures, with community (independent) parly & local govt candidates, is like Makoni 2008!

#YellowKwaYellow To cap it all, @nelsonchamisa’s 2023 structureless run for the presidency is as yellow as Simba Makoni’s failed 2008 structureless run for the same. If imitation is indeed the best form of flattery, then Simba Makoni must be chuffed by being copied by Chamisa!

  1. The way Jonathan Moyo is attacking the CCC and Nelson Chamisa would suggest that he went into self exile because of Chamisa. Prof Moyo, CCC is not the ruling party and Nelson Chamisa is not the president of Zimbabwe, he is just an opposition leader. If you are happy with the status quo, you either keep quiet or praise the ruling party and its leadership instead of always attacking the CCC and Nelson Chamisa, uri kurasika Pali Jonso!!!!!

    1. On the other side jonso is right to point out weaknesses with pin point accuracy, how i see it, is, jonso needs change like any other zimba, when potential hope lacks quality, you get frustrated sometimes without noticing it. Jonso is just being human the same way with hopewell on cancer machines is doing, some will attack hopewell but by pointing out, he has played his part as a citizen, chamisa lacks tact that is a fact, with the economic situation on his side, he could have been more popular and organized than the great tsvangison(mhsrp), by fighting other opposition called them boys and choir because they joined polad, he has destryed his base, he lacks humility, lets appreciate jonso is not any other boy wekumuraga he can unpack complexities

      1. Point taken but if you are convinced that Chamisa lacks tact, you are free to support any party of your choice as there are more than 20 political parties in the country or alternatively you and probably Jonso can form and lead a vibrant political party to dislodge Zanu-PF and CCC, simple!! isn’t it!!!

  2. The nutty professor has selective amnesia, He has failed to achieve anything except hie exile. He is older and more bookish. He’s a bitter and confused old hag! He’s in a life crisis stage. What would you do differently if God returned you to 40 he nutty Prof? Its a pity you decided to be a prostitute – POLITICALLY, kkkkkkkkkkkkk
