Six people died in an accident that occurred along the Mutare-Shamhu road while six others were injured.
In a statement seen by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reports that the accident happened on Monday around 4 pm. Names of the victims were yet to be released at the time of publishing. Reads the report:
The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred at the 9km peg along Mutare-Shamhu Road on 29/08/22 at around 1600 hours, where six people died while six others were injured after a motorist driving a Mazda T35 carrying timber with 14 passengers on board went off the road and overturned once. Names of victims will be released in due course.
In a related case, two people including the driver of a Mazda Demio car, died on the spot, while four others were injured when the vehicle collided with a Scania truck.
The accident occurred at the 85km peg along Ngundu-Tanganda Road on Monday at around 2000 hours.
The Mazda Demio car had four passengers on board.
