The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has issued a Weather Report and Forecast which covers the period 21 -23 April 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:
PREAMBLE
ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON THURSDAY 21 APRIL 2022 VALID UNTIL SATURDAY 23 APRIL 2022.
It was cloudy over much of the country yesterday; while thundery rain showers covered areas along and north of the main watershed, the southern areas were governed by cool and windy conditions coupled with rain and drizzle. Rainfall amounts exceeding 1 Omm were recorded at Gokwe (73mm), Kwekwe (38mm), Gweru (32), Nkayi(21mm), Whahwa(20mm), Sanyati(18.9mm), Nyazura(15mm), and Chisumbanje(13mm). Meanwhile, moisture continues being circulated within the Zimbabwean atmosphere.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW FRIDAY 22 APRIL 2022
The bulk of the country, covering much of Midlands, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland South, Masvingo, Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland Central and Mashonaland West, should be cloudy and warm with light intermittent rain showers. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are anticipated in the periphery of the circulation (namely Matabeleland North, Mashonaland East, and Manicaland province) with brief cloudy periods and warm daytime conditions.

• A decrease in temperature affects the body’s health, with common colds, influenza and fever, as well as asthma, being common.
• Lightning may still strike from a distant cloud, even when the sky overhead is clear.
ACTIONS TO TAKE
• Dress appropriately to keep warm and if need be seek advice from a certified health professional.
• Rain may affect adversely affect crops in the field awaiting harvest, thus harvesting and suitable storage for drying is recommended where possible.
• When thunder roars, it is best to be indoors. If outdoors please find shelter immediately; do not shelter under trees or in isolated shed. Do not ride at the back of an open truck or a tractor.
• Do not cross rivers or streams of unknown depths even if no heavy rains have occurred in your area, they may have occurred upstream.

Starting off cool in the morning, brief cloudy and warm afternoon conditions are anticipated over parts of Masvingo, Midlands, Bulawayo Metropolitan, parts of Matabeleland North, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland Central and Harare Metropolitan with light rain showers which may be thundery in places.
Partly cloudy and warm conditions are expected om the south of Masvingo, north of Matabeleland North, Mashonaland East and Manicaland Provinces.
