Thieves break into Sydney Sekeramayi’s house

Speaking to The Sunday Mail, police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba yesterday confirmed that thieves broke into defence minister Sydney Sekeramayi’s Borrowdale home and stole $620. Charamba said they are still investigating and that no arrests have been made so far.

Investigations show that the thieves broke in between 1am and 5am on Friday after jumping a precast wall and cutting part of the fence. They gained entry into the house by breaking a kitchen window before entering into one of the bedrooms. The thieves then stole a suit and a handbag containing US$120 and US$500. They left the suitcase and handbag. There was one police officer guarding the house who failed to notice the incident because the property is huge and may require more people to monitor movements.
