President Robert Mugabe has in terms of section 27 (i) of the Civil Protection Act (chapter 10.06) of 1989 declared the Nyamakate bus accident which has claimed 43 lives, a state of disaster. The families of the deceased will receive US$200 dollars as funeral assistance.
Acting President, Emmerson Mnangagwa also sent a condolence message to families of the 43 people who died in yesterday’s accident, while Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere and Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Minister Faber Chidarike visited survivors of the bus disaster at Chinhoyi Hospital and revealed that government will also offer state assistance to them.
