Mnangagwa’s nephew sentenced to 4 months in jail for failing to pay maintenance

Harare magistrate, Anniah Ndiraya sentenced Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s nephew Tongai Mnangagwa (39) to 4 months in jail over a $5 120 child maintenance debt. The jail term was however wholly-suspended on condition that he immediately pays $1 500 and the balance by July 7 this year.

Mnangagwa was convicted on his own plea of guilt. In 2014 he was ordered by the court to pay $250 monthly to his former wife Shuvai Murumbi for the upkeep of their two children.
