Harare City Council has alerted church leaders in the capital of the residents’ displeasure over noise pollution caused by their churches’ loud music. Said the city fathers:
Dear Harare Church Leaders It has come to our attention that residents are unhappy over noise pollution caused by your churches loud music. Residents want you to be considerate and accept that not everyone wants to listen to your music and preaching.
Church buildings are mandated to have soundproof. Singing and preaching in the middle of residential areas is not encouraged. There is need to respect the privacy of other residents who want to rest and enjoy home time.
Responding to the local government’s message, some residents reminded Harare City to collect garbage in locations.
Some blamed the council for allocating churches near residential stands as noise pollution is bound to happen.
The corrupt Town/City Councils are the people to blame: they issue any license just for the money.
You are partly correct, noise is not good even to animals but you left out bars and night clubs and are built right in residential areas. These are real nonsense, blasting through PA systems right into midnight daily, you hardly sleep because of the deafening noises. We are not all night club patrons, neither are we all drunkards or prostitutes who patronise such places. Some from these places go on even to drink in street and relieve themselves on street corners in public imagine, what a depraved generation
Bar are even worse than churches , its everyday
This should be countrywide! If we want to hear your preaching we can come to your church, not have to be forced to listen to it!
