A Beitbridge man, Matthew Mazhara popularly known as Musoja, collapsed and died after drinking excessive amounts of an illegally-imported Mozambican alcoholic beverage known as Soldier.
Sources at Beitbridge Police Station who spoke to NewsDay said that the victim died after consuming 1 000ml of the illegal beverage which has an alcohol content of 43%. Police recorded the incident as sudden death and ruled out foul play.
