The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) secretary-general Victor Matemadanda, who is also ZANU PF political commissar, has hit out at the former president of Botswana, Seretse Khama Ian Khama for his alleged interference in Zimbabwe’s internal affairs.
Matemadanda taunted Khama, saying the former Head of State has an identity crisis (Khama has a black father and white mother), and that he should find a wife instead of meddling in Zimbabwe’s affairs.
Speaking to war veterans in Mutare on Monday, Matemadanda, who is the Deputy Defence and War Veterans Affairs Minister said:
There is a man who suffers from an identity crisis, who does not know whether he is black or white, Botswana former president Ian Khama.
Worse, he is yet to convince a single lady to be his wife. Imagine a bachelor to come and give Zanu PF leaders advice on how to run this country, saying I want to involve myself in Zimbabwe’s internal issues.
When you do not have the courage to tell a woman that I love you. Nonsense!
Zimbabwe is above that level to be told what to do by old bachelors. We have better things to think of.
In July this year, Khama posted images of himself and some Zimbabweans all decked out in T-shirts inscribed with the #ZimbabweLivesMatter statement on social media.
Matemadanda also slammed investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono, former Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) secretary-general Peter Magombeyi and Bustop TV actress Samantha Kureya (Gonyeti).
Magombeyi and Gonyeti were allegedly abducted last year by suspected State agents and Matemadanda dismissed the abductions as having been stage-managed.

Mixed race people have an identity crisis. This is what a man in the position of Secretary General of War Vets Association and political commissar of a ruling party can blatantly say in a country in which very few families do not have some relative who is of mixed race. So you get to see why Zimbabwe has been plunged into the bottom of the table of the poorest nations in the world, the nations with the lowest standards of living in the world. How can a man in such a position speak without thinking like this? He forgets how he hoodwinked us in November 2017, talking like a gentleman all of a sudden. It won’t be forever, zvichapera hazvo. Mugabe akabva wani… Ndimi futi makazomubvisa. Aiti chii? Maiti chii about Mugabe getting off the top sit?
And this is the calibre of a leader. Shame!
