Zimbabwean prominent journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono has called upon the government to make public the names of people who tested positive for coronavirus and those who would have succumbed to the virus.
Chin’ono says that this will help in the tracing, testing and isolation of coronavirus suspects. Posting on Twitter, Chin’ono said:
When someone has tested positive or died from COVID-19, their name must be made public in order to trace, test & isolate.
COVID-19 doesn’t have stigma & shouldn’t.
Many more people will die if those who test positive are not made public. What is important is knowing & testing.
His remarks come amid reports that the government is concealing some of the coronavirus cases. Meanwhile, there are some who argue that patients’ right to privacy must be ensured.

Chin’ino akakwana here murume iyu. He is not fit to be a leader at all. Signs and symptoms of a dictetor.
He does not understand that by the time you see or feel the symptoms of having the disease you will have spread it to 30 or so people and those people will have spread tho theirs 30 or so by the time they realise that they have the disease and it goes on like that. So if you get to know who is positive after 2 to 3 weeks are you going to follow up on the people they met between the date of infection and the the date they were diagnosed positive?????
Do you have t8he resources to do that????
*We need journalists who think.*
