Newly Appointed Deputy Minister Rejects Govt Vehicle, Says It Can Be Used In Other Departments – Report

The newly appointed Youth Ministry deputy minister has rejected a govt land cruiser V8 and said it can be used in other departments The Anchor reports. According to the Anchor, the reason why he rejected the vehicle is that he said he was OK.

Asked for comment by the publication, Tinoda Machakaire said:

Why are you worried about me having a car, we have several issues we need to deal with as a nation, the youths and the arts sector have  problems that need to be dealt with. Those are issues I am busy liaising with my boss Minister (Kirsty) Coventry to address not to dwell on issues that have nothing to do with development or delivering the  promise.

Tinoda is one of the 6 new cabinet members who were appointed by the president a few weeks ago when he reshuffled the cabinet.

  1. Government vehicles have been inappropriately used since independence by all departments and are seen by zanu thugs as a perk and a right .

  2. Bravo, what a refreshing change. Good on you Deputy Minister for taking a stand, though the subtety may be lost on others not as smart nor as honest as you.
Well impressed…If only our Zimbabwe had a parliament full of citizens such as Tinoda we would not see our people in dire straights!
