Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has posted a video of Zanu PF regalia Clad women in what looks like a community outreach program. The women were using a pit oven to bake bread.
Bread has been scarce of late and last week the government started encouraging people to start community bakeries to cub bread shortages.
Chin’ono castigated the community bakery and called it a “ridicule” because he said our country is endowed with natural resources but people are still baking bread using 19th-century methods:
This is the ZANUPF bakery in Lupane. Much as we might laugh at these things, we are watching our people being reduced to 19th century folks in a 21st century Zimbabwe! This is wrong, a country endowed with so much natural resources should not subject its people to such ridicule!
