Central Govt, MDC-led Harare City Council Working Well – Town Clerk

Harare City Council town clerk, Hosiah Chisango, said that the MDC-led local authority is working well with the ZANU PF government to improve service delivery for the residents.

Chisango was speaking on New Zimbabwe.com’s current affairs programme The Agenda on Monday. He said:

The relationship we have with the government is so far the best in years.

Ministers are ready to meet us anytime, we request for such and the cordial relations have seen positive strides in terms of development for the city.

On policing issues, we have had successes and so far so good. Ministers are supportive of initiatives we are carrying out.

Harare city fathers have had a sour relationship with the central government since the opposition MDC became the dominant force in urban areas.

Various Ministers who were in charge of the Local Government Ministry at different times have been accused of sabotaging the MDC, the most notorious being G40 kingpins Ignatius Chombo and Saviour Kasukuwere.
