Brito Open To Warriors Return

Former Warriors interim coach Baltemar Brito is said to be open to returning to the national team if conditions are right.

Brito, who guided Zimbabwe to draws against Rwanda and Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, said that he misses Zimbabwe and would be available depending on “an agreement on one or two things.”

If a deal is reached, he is prepared to work with current interim coach Kaitano Tembo, with Tembo as his assistant.

Brito was appointed on an interim basis by the ZIFA Normalisation Committee and oversaw two qualifiers, both played in Rwanda because Zimbabwe had no CAF-approved stadium. The Nigeria game was officially a home fixture for Zimbabwe.

ZIFA is searching for a substantive coach ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers following Marian Marinica’s resignation three months ago.
