TM Pick n Pay and CABS have donated US$260,000 to support cancer screening and treatment programmes across Zimbabwe.

The funds were raised through the 2025 “Pink October” and “Blue November” campaigns, as well as the recently concluded 2026 “Orange Month” campaign. These initiatives encouraged customers and partners to contribute towards strengthening the country’s fight against cancer.

The donation is expected to benefit children and vulnerable patients nationwide, with a particular focus on extending screening and treatment services to marginalised and rural communities in 2026.

What started as simple in-store awareness has grown into a strong multi-stakeholder partnership with the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe and KidzCan Zimbabwe.

The total contribution is split into two main areas: US$110,000 is earmarked for nationwide screenings, channelled through the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe to provide free screening programmes throughout 2026.

A further US$150,000 has been allocated for Paediatric Care & Diagnostics and will be handed to KidzCan Zimbabwe, funding essential chemotherapy drugs and diagnostic tests.

The funds were raised through customers buying themed merchandise, taking part in in-store activations, and the “swipe-for-a-cause” initiative, where CABS donated a set amount for every transaction processed on its point-of-sale machines in TM Pick n Pay stores.

Building on last year’s success, which screened 1,715 women, the partnership has set an ambitious target to screen 10,000 women by the end of 2026, focusing on marginalised areas where access to specialist healthcare is limited.
