New ZBC Board Appointed, Helliate Rushwaya Named Chairperson

The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services has appointed a new board to oversee the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) for a four-year term.

The appointments, made in terms of section 11(13) of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act [Chapter 10:31], were confirmed in General Notice 1186 of 2025, dated June 13, 2025.

Helliate Rushwaya has been named the new Board Chairperson, tasked with leading the national broadcaster’s strategic direction.

She will be deputised by Adv. Tapson Stanley Togaraesai Dzvetero who has been appointed as the Vice Chairman.

The other ZBC Board members include Mr. Chipo Nheta, Dr. Henry Mukono, Dr. Nanette Silukhuni, Mr. Charles Munganasa, Ms. Precious Charandura, Mr. Thandolwenkosi Nkomo, Prof. Sibongile Mpofu, Dr. Queen Mpofu, Mr. Amon Craig Matambo, Ms. Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa, and Mr. Martin Takawira Kweza.

The notification of the appointments was issued by Ndavaningi Mangwana, Secretary for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.
