Mike Mupinga, whose dogs reportedly mauled a passer-by to death over the weekend, is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, 5 June, to face rape charges.
A medical doctor is expected to testify regarding his previous failure to appear in court.
Mupinga appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after the case was rolled over for a default inquiry.
However, the hearing was postponed to Thursday to allow for the doctor’s testimony on the reasons behind his earlier court absence.
On Tuesday, Mupinga also appeared in court on a separate charge of culpable homicide after his three pit bulls and a rottweiler allegedly attacked and killed a passer-by in Bluffhill on Saturday.
He is expected back in court on Friday for a bail hearing in connection with the culpable homicide case.
