Kadoma Teenager Exonerates Mupostori After Admitting False Rape Allegation

An 18-year-old woman was convicted in the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court for deliberately supplying false information to a public authority.

The case arose on May 9, 2025, when the young woman reported a rape incident involving a man known as “Mupostori” to the police at approximately 9:30 PM.

According to the NPA, just ten days later, on May 19, the teenager retracted her claim, and told the police that she had not been raped.

Instead, she admitted that she had been assaulted by Mupostori after searching his pockets.

The court found that the woman had knowingly provided false information out of spite.

As a result, she was sentenced to six months in prison, with two months suspended for five years.

The remaining four months of her sentence will be suspended on the condition that she completes 140 hours of community service.
