Chivayo Withholds Toyota Aqua, US$3,000 After Kapfupi Turned Up Drunk

Comedian and musician Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima failed to collect a brand-new Toyota Aqua and a US$3,000 cash gift from businessman Wicknell Chivayo on Monday, June 2, after arriving in an allegedly intoxicated state.

The gifted vehicle and cash were a response to Kapfupi’s recent appeal for help following a car accident. 

Last week, the entertainer claimed that “evil forces” from his home village were behind the mishap, suggesting that some people “don’t want him to succeed.” He publicly requested another vehicle from Chivayo.

Chivayo responded on Sunday, June 1, with a brand-new Toyota Aqua and US$3,000. Of the total amount, he specified that US$2,000 was for Kapfupi’s personal use, while US$1,000 was to be used for full insurance cover through one of the country’s major providers, NicozDiamond, FBC Insurance, or CBZ Insurance.

Chivayo advised Kapfupi to collect the car from Madzibaba Chipaga on Monday. However, a leaked WhatsApp conversation revealed that a person identified as “Madz Chipaga”, presumably Madzibaba Chipaga, expressed concern over Kapfupi’s condition. He suggested Kapfupi may be battling alcohol addiction.

According to Madz Chipaga, a previous vehicle gifted to Kapfupi was also involved in an accident, allegedly while he was driving under the influence. He wrote:
