Dynamos Football Club has clarified that it has not been banned from signing players by FIFA, stressing that any potential sanctions are not yet in force.
In a statement issued on Friday, 30 May, the club said it has a 45-day window to engage with the affected parties, including the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and FIFA, in a bid to resolve the matter amicably. The statement reads:
Dynamos Football Club wishes to clarify recent media reports regarding a FIFA-imposed transfer ban for outstanding payments to former players.
Under FIFA’s Disciplinary Code, Dynamos has a 45-day period to engage with the affected parties, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), and FIFA to resolve the matter.
Dynamos remains fully focused on performance and preparation for the next upcoming fixtures. Head Coach Saul Chaminuka has intensified training sessions and tactical plans, aiming to deliver an even stronger display on the pitch.
The club thanks its fans for their unwavering support and patience during this period, and looks forward to celebrating many more successes in the spirit of the “Glamour Boys”.
FIFA has announced that Dynamos will face a ban from registering new players, both locally and internationally, over unpaid salaries owed to two former players, Emmanuel Paga and Frederick Ansah Botchway.
Paga, a striker, is owed US$8,500, while his fellow Ghanaian, Botchway, is owed US$10,000.
The ban isn’t immediate, it kicks in 45 days from the date of the ruling, which was handed down on Wednesday, 28 May 2025.
Dynamos now becomes the third Premier Soccer League club, after Yadah Stars and Highlanders, to be hit with sanctions by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in the last two years for not settling debts with foreign players.
