Prophet Ndlovu Appeals For US$8 000 From Church Members Despite Receiving US$150,000 From Chivayo

Prophet Ian Ndlovu, leader of Divine Kingdom Baptist Ministries, has announced a temporary halt to the church’s construction project in Newton West due to a legal issue concerning the land title.

Speaking to congregants, Ndlovu explained that the one-hectare plot earmarked for development was originally made up of two separate plots, which were later consolidated. However, the title deed for the combined land is not yet in the name of the church.

Ndlovu noted that once development starts, the land’s value will rise, leading to higher transfer costs. To avoid this, he appealed to church members to help raise US$8,000 needed to process the title change.

He said the church’s lawyers said that although the land had been consolidated, ownership was never formally transferred to Divine Kingdom Baptist Ministries.

According to Ndlovu, the lawyers advised that completing the transfer before construction begins is essential to safeguard the church’s interests.

This announcement comes shortly after Ndlovu received lavish gifts from businessman Wicknell Chivayo, including a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, a Toyota Fortuner for his wife, and US$150,000 in cash. Said Ndlovu:

So I’m appearing before you to appeal to those who have a willing heart to contribute because their rough calculation that was made by our lawyers is that we need approximately US$8,000.

It can be more depending on the charges at the tax revenue office when we are transferring the title or when we are changing the names and also at the deeds at the registrar of deeds office as well.

They also have some charges which fluctuate. We didn’t have the cession of land from the deeds office and also from the tax revenue office, but the rough calculation of the lawyers landed us at approximately 8,000 dollars.

So we need to urgently raise 8,000 US dollars in order to transfer the title of the consolidated plot of land to Divine Kingdom Baptist Ministries so that uh it’s in the name of the church.

In that way, it will protect the interests of our global community of believers who have contributed so much towards the development of that land and the acquisition of that land.
