The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has issued a weather update for the period Tuesday, 27 May to Thursday, 29 May 2025, indicating a mix of clear skies, scattered cloud cover, and variable temperatures across the country.
On Tuesday, slight ground frost was recorded in Nyanga during the early morning hours. Scattered clouds over the western parts of the country contributed to milder morning conditions, with frost largely absent in those areas. Daytime temperatures across most regions rose to warm levels.
For Wednesday, cool and windy conditions are expected in the morning across Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Masvingo, and Manicaland provinces. Brief cloud cover is forecast for the Chiredzi District. Afternoon conditions will be partly cloudy and warm, with cooler temperatures developing by evening.
The public is advised to stay warm and ensure adequate ventilation when using indoor heating sources such as braziers, particularly for vulnerable groups like children and the elderly.
In Mashonaland provinces, Harare Metropolitan, Midlands, and Matabeleland North, briefly cloudy periods are expected, with a slight chance of light showers. Afternoon temperatures will be warm, with a notable drop anticipated overnight.
Thursday’s forecast points to generally clear skies. Slight ground frost may occur in areas such as Matopos, West Nicholson, Masvingo, Gweru, and Chivhu. The afternoon is expected to be sunny and mild, transitioning to colder conditions at night.
Members of the public are encouraged to take appropriate measures to manage frost and maintain warmth during the early morning and evening hours.
